About Us

Our Story

New Haven Learning Centre (New Haven) is a private, non-profit treatment and education centre for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related disorders (Charitable Registration Number 87888 6662 RR0001).

Comprehensive teaching methods and progressive intervention strategies based on the scientifically validated principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) are used throughout the Centre. We are proud to be a charitable organization that tailors curricula to the specific needs of each individual we service. At New Haven, we celebrate daily evidence- based practices making life changing impacts on our students’ lives.

New Haven is very proud to be a centre focused on the implementation of evidence-based practices. Our programs are designed and managed by certified professionals, supported by volunteers and funded by generous corporate and private donors in addition to recently successful bids for federal government program development grants.

New Haven opened its doors in 1998 with six students becoming one of the first ABA centre-based programs for children with autism in Ontario. Although we do not receive any direct provincial funding for our program, it is our annual goal to pursue repeat and new independent fundraising opportunities. The program has continued to evolve from its foundation of committed parents and skilled staff to serve the autism community.

New Haven’s children’s program services children from 2- 18 years of age. The adult program, servicing individuals 18+, offers both vocational training and day treatment programming in an effort to meet the unique needs of each participant that chooses our service. As we continue to grow in our clientele and service models, we are excited to broaden the results and improvements we have witnessed to date. Throughout our work at New Haven, we know that life changing events can and do happen for those partaking in ABA-based intervention. We welcome you to share in that opportunity.
